Saturday my family grew by one. Through a local dog rescue, we found a 5 year old pitbull mix named Chevy who was likely to be put down soon, as pitbulls in Michigan cannot be adopted directly through animal control. So we are giving him a home until he gets adopted (likely by us.) It’s a great day, new dog that loves everyone and has an automotive name to boot!

D’AWWW.

Pits are so cuddly. My sister’s got a pit/beagle mix and he’s got the lean beagle body and fat dumb pit face. Our pug will get aggressive with him and he looks at her like “Oh you don’t even know, little one,” and lay there and let her bark at him.

Cute pup. Thank you for rescuing him. I have an affinity for pits, I have two myself. They really are misunderstood animals. I love to see a dog's face when they realize they don't have to go back into that cage anymore. There's few feelings better in life for me.

It’s illegal to have pitbulls in the town my brother lives in. Someone brought one in, it killed his neighbor’s pug. Poor old lady is so sad now.

Even “Warriors” need a friendly scratch and warm place to call home...

Awesome. We have a Pit/Pointer mix that is the cutest little thing. Only 30 lbs, but all muscle and love.

Hopefully they’ll ban Mustangs too. Don’t want anyone getting run over.

An entire town punished because of one irresponsible owner? Ugh.

That’s so small for a pit mix!

They’re so relaxed, their bad rap amazes me.

As with any animal, there are well trained ones and poorly trained ones. The rotten egg shouldn’t have to spoil the dozen.

Yup. Humane Society thought he was a Pit /Boxer, we got him at 6 months and he never really got much bigger so we were kinda perplexed. Took him to the vet and another customer said he looked like her pointer! So, there ya go.

Well, the smaller they are, the cheaper to keep fed!

Every pit I’ve met has been a total sweetheart. Really affectionate and friendly. I used to buy into the dangerous killer story, but I’ve really had to rethink that.
